Scientists have devised a blood test to let a woman know that how many years she has got more of her child bearing age. This test is a result of the study conducted by Iran based scientists that could be complied as a home testing kit to determine the time when a woman would like to have kid and if, still there is some time left and pregnancy could be delayed.

This small study was conducted for six years to see if hormone levels can determine the menopausal stage of women. This report was presented in a fertility conference. The scientists took blood samples of 266 women falling in between the age group of 20 to 49 years and checked the levels of a hormone that is the prime reason behind the maturity of eggs in women. This hormone is also known as AMH or Anti Muller Hormone in medical lingo. The women were participants in a study to assess the cardiovascular risk in Iranian population.

The levels of hormone were measured twice at an interval of three years. Reproduction and medical histories of women were also collected. The scientists then developed a framework to estimate the link between falling levels of hormone and reducing age of eggs to predict the age of menopause in women.
The researchers interpreted that they have successfully established the correlation between the ages predicted by their framework and actual menopausal age achieved during the study.

The error of margin was quoted as little as
a third of the year and as maximum as three to four year between the estimated and actual menopausal ages. They said that career has become the most important thing in a womans life and everything comes later. To accommodate the needs of her life, this test could be of utmost importance. She can decide her priorities based upon it.

They further added that their model can ascertain AMH levels for different age groups to predict the menopausal age of women. However, they felt the need of further research to establish the validity of their results for the women in their early and late 20s.
This study, though at limited level can be really beneficial in the years to come for the women to prioritize their future but till now, the fact that three out of 63 women who reached menopause were under the age of 45 years, needs an extensive follow up by researchers of women falling under various age groups.

This study needs to establish its sensitivity and preciseness across all levels of medical world to assure them of sure shot results because till now women who got wrong estimation of time raise question. As the experts say, AMH levels cannot be a single criterion to assess that for how long a woman can conceive. It has been known from various previous researches that the fertility levels of women start declining much before their actual age of menopause.

Also, no account was taken of the lifestyle of these women. It is a known fact that balanced nutritional levels and healthy lifestyle can delay the onset of menopause in women.
