Women are the preferred targets in all kinds of assaults by a 9 to 1 margin over men. Being aware of that fact could be not tip number one. Then doing something about it is the key. Here are some more tips to keep the ladies in your life safe.
1. Women have particularly great instincts they should trust them.
2. Develop a tough survivor frame of mind. Be aware of your surroundings.
3. In an assault situation your first priority is survival followed closely by escape.
4. React quickly, instinctively and intuitively. This is where practice comes in. Practice different assault scenarios with your friends so when the time comes, not if it comes, but when, you will know how to react. A few seconds can save your life.
5. Know what you can use as a weapon. If you don't have a pepper spray, try hairspray. If you don't have a stun gun, a ball point pen into the eyes socket will work.
6. Remember you don't get style points here. Fight dirty.
7. If you do have self defense products make darn sure you know how to use them. They will give you 5 to 45 minutes to escape from a dangerous situation but only if you're effective in using them.
8. It doesn't help if you get drunk or high on drugs and become a provocative target. Use common sense.
Following these tips could save your life. Remember "walk softly and carry a nasty pepper spray."
