When it comes to buying Christmas presents, we very rarely think beyond the concept of buying for friends or family, sometimes it can be just as nice to get a 'family present' or a 'house present' that can be enjoyed by everyone and help to bring a new vibrancy to your house hold. You can't exactly buy a t-shirt that everyone can wear within the family, unless you are in to that...but on a more realistic notion have a look at a few of these ideas for some inspiration for trying something new this Christmas.
A piece of art work
This time round why not think about investing in a sculptor or piece of art? You can pick the piece together allowing everyone to express their artistic values as well as have a new focal point with in your house.
A board game
Yes it does sound old fashioned but Christmas is meant to be about tradition so really you finally have the excuse, plus new multimedia board games seem to be more focused on graphics rather than good quality gaming which can make it a bit of a disappointment. It's a worthy bonding exercise and is still fun plus it allows everyone to get a bit competitive and if you want to go really out there you could even make-your-own-o
poly.
A holiday
Christmas is expensive enough without throwing the word 'holiday' in there but some travel companies do special deals around this time of year so you might be able to find a bargain or even something on the cheap. Or if you wanted to, you could book something a little in advanced (saving you money) for a spring vacation and surprise everyone on Christmas Day with it.
A new gadget
There a literally thousands of gadgets on the market at the moment which are family orientated. You could get a kitchen/food gadget like a juice blender or maybe an interactive photo frame, so you can upload all your snaps on to it. For another idea why not think about connecting all your electronics to a single universal home remote.
A treasure chest hamper full of special bit and bobs
If you can't make your minds up on exactly what you want to get you can do a hamper and create a bit of a pick a mix of presents. Like Easter why not create a Christmas styled present hunt. This way you can branch out a bit more on what you get, plus everyone gets involved trying to work out where it is.
These are just a few ideas but it's just another way in which the whole family can share the special day together and make it a Christmas to remember.
