A lot of people suffer from a severe lack of confidence and this can seriously affect all areas of their life, from work to relationships. In fact, shyness can be so bad that people fail to reach their full potential. There are many ways in which to overcome shyness but it can be an ongoing battle that people struggle with all their lives. Often it's a case of persevering, or putting yourself in tricky situations that you'd rather avoid to try and battle your demons and build up your confidence. Although shyness is present all the time, there are certain situations that will highlight the issue. These include:
Job interviews
Everyone finds these difficult and even the most confident people get nervous before a job interview. May people suffer from cold sweats, shaking hands, heart palpitations and stuttering and all these things can seriously affect how you come across to a potential employer. Whilst they will appreciate the situation and they always allow for nerves, if your shyness means that you can't answer the questions fully, or you can't sell yourself for the role then it's going to be difficult for them to see past this and offer you the job.
If you can smile with confidence, this can really help to ease the tension in an interview room. Everyone responds to a smile and it will give you a brief pause so that you can try and compose yourself and move on. If you use teeth whitening kits then you know with certainty that your smile will reveal shiny, white teeth. Teeth whitening kits continue to rise with popularity every year.
Asking someone out
This is another classic situation that can see those who suffer with shyness miss out. It's hard to strike up a conversation with someone you find attractive but if you're really shy, it can be even more difficult. This is one of the instances when you really have to try and overcome the shyness and go for it. Sometimes you only get one chance to chat someone up, and too many lost opportunities can play havoc with your confidence. Take a deep breath, give yourself a pep talk and take the plunge. Your teeth whitening gel will ensure you have a dazzling smile and, after all, you have nothing to lose and potentially a lot to gain.
Meeting new people
This situation can crop up a lot - from weddings to new jobs, there are going to be many times in your life when you have to meet new people. If you suffer from shyness, just meeting one new person can make you clam up and retreat into yourself. The first day in a new job can be a huge obstacle to overcome but remember that all those new people will soon be colleagues and it's just the initial introductions that will be difficult. Once you get to know people, the nerves will disappear and you should be able to re
lax more in their company. If you can get through these situations, you can give yourself a big slap on the back and know that you're dealing with your shyness and slowly overcoming it.
Stay looking young with Whiter Teeth
Everyone wants to look younger than they are - they might deny it or say that they aren't bothered but it's probably untrue. Who doesn't like to be told that they five or ten years younger than they're actual age? It gives your confidence a boost and makes you think that you must be doing something right with your health and beauty routine. There are plenty of ways in which you can help out Mother Nature and give you looks a boost but you don't necessarily need to spend a fortune on cosmetic procedures or tiny pots of face cream. There are lots of things you can do to help prolong your looks.
Daily beauty routine
If you wear make-up, it's important to remove it every night. You should carefully cleanse, tone and moisturise your face before you go to bed. Some nights you just won't feel like it but make yourself do it - when you get the compliments you'll be glad that you did! A good cleansing routine will help to stop your pores getting clogged up and it gives your skin a chance to breathe, feel from make-up and pollution.
Look after your teeth
It's all very well having youthful looking skin but if your smile reveals a row of rotten skin, nobody will be complimenting you on your looks. Use good tooth whitening products to ensure you have a gleaming smile and brush your teeth at least twice a day to keep them in good condition. Make sure you keep up with dental appointments and that means seeing the dental hygienist as well. You should go to the dentist every six months for a check-up. Nobody really likes going to the dentist but it's vital if you want to keep your teeth healthy and keep your own teeth.
Eat healthily
You certainly won't look younger than your years if you fill yourself up with fizzy drinks, crisps and other high calorie snacks. Your body need nutrients and healthy foods to sustain it and a good diet will keep you skin youthful, too. You should drink plenty of water, eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and try to choose slow-burning carbohydrates. These include brown rice, wholemeal bread and wholemeal pasta. Healthy eating should be a part of your everyday life and it should be combined with a good exercise regime. If you stick to both, you'll look fit, healthy and glowing and you should definitely look younger.
That's not to say you can't have the odd treat here and there - life would be very dull if all treats were banned. But just make sure they are kept as treats and you don't reach for the cake or biscuit tin when you feel puckish. Keep them out of the house and you won't be tempted. If you have a cupboard full of sweet treats, it's easy to persuade yourself that you've earned a treat after a tough day at work or a particularly hard workout session at the gym.
