Women are generally very interested and concerned with their appearance, from the way their hair appears to the clothes they wear and of course how their body appears to others. Women in general also seem to be concerned with how their breasts look both with clothes and without to the naked eye. Breasts are a sign of sexuality, and if a woman is unsatisfied with how her breasts look she may experience slightly lower self-esteem. Not everyone was born with perfect breasts, as some women also deal with congenital defects such as Poland's Syndrome or Tubular breasts. For these women, they often feel very self-conscious about how their body appears. Breast augmentation surgery can help to restore these defects, offering women more perfect looking breasts that they dream of.
Poland's syndrome is a birth defect that is characterized by defects on the chest muscle on one side of the body. There are varying levels of Poland's syndrome and in some women it can be as severe as having the complete absence of a breast on the impacted side of the body. Milder cases can be present with one breast being smaller than the other, which causes the woman to feel very proportioned. Breast augmentation surgery can help to restore the breas
t and ensure breast symmetry. However, depending on the severity of Poland's Syndrome, more than one procedure may be needed.
Tubular breasts are another congenial deformity that can be fixed or altered by breast augmentation surgery. Under this condition, women experience varying symptoms ranging from puffy nipples, misshaped breasts, areolas that projects straight out (often called a Snoppy Nose) and breasts that are not uniform with eachother. Tubular breasts are relatively common and plastic surgery has been very successful in reforming and reshaping the breasts. Unlike Poland's Syndrome, tubular breasts can often be repaired during one procedure. Your plastic surgeon will be able to explain more based on your breasts as everyone is different.
Breast augmentation surgery offers the opportunity for women to have new shapely and symmetrical breasts, particularly if they were born with certain defects. The choice to have plastic surgery is a personal choice that should be carefully decided. If you have breasts that are not the same size, too small for your body or are just unhappy about how you look, consider talking with a plastic surgeon. It is vital to feel good about yourself and since most of us were not born with the perfect body let alone perfect breasts, cosmetic surgery may be an option for you.
